CLAY DUCK
Senior Pastor
Clay joined the staff at Canaan as Senior Pastor in July 2025. Clay is married to Haley. Together, they have four boys: Bryston, Keegan, Elliott, and Truett. They are expecting their fifth child soon. Clay attended The University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in History. He is a two-time graduate of Liberty Theological Seminary, earning a Master's of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries and a Doctor of Ministry in Church Revitalization.
Clay desires to see the local church make disciples of Jesus, grow in Christ, and share His love with the community.

CHUCK DUNNING
Associate Pastor
Chuck, also known as "Brother Chuck," joined the team at Canaan in 2013. Chuck is married to Jame'. Together, they have one daughter, Raely. Brother Chuck grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and graduated from Baptist College of Florida. Chuck is extremely talented in administration and one of the kindest, caring human beings on the planet. Chuck cares deeply for the local church and desires to see it effectively make disciples.

DAVID INESTROZA
Fill-In Worship Pastor
David serves as our fill-in Worship Pastor. He also serves as Hispanic Ministries Consultant for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. Since 2007, he has led worship and served on the pastoral team in Baptist churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

SHANNON SHUFORD
Children's Minister
Shannon joined the team at Canaan in 2024. Shannon is married to Jeff. Together, they have two children, Lee and Anna. In addition to working as our Children's Minister, Shannon is a Special Education Teacher at Helena Elementary School. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Samford University, a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education from UAB, an Educational Specialist Degree in Collaborative Special Education from The University of Alabama, and an additional Master’s level certificate in Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo. Shannon’s vast knowledge of child development and her passion for building relationships with children and families make her an excellent member of our team.

APRIL BOYD
Administrative Assistant
April joined our team in January 2024, after serving as a volunteer in the church office. She manages daily administrative tasks and supports the pastors in their roles. April and her husband, Mark, have two beautiful daughters, Kaylee and Rylee. Mark and April have served in student ministry throughout their marriage and have a heart and passion for students. They currently serve on the Student Advisory Team and teach our students on Sunday mornings.
